Mariusz Wnuk is new CEO of the ORLEN Unipetrol Group

Mariusz Wnuk and Zbigniew Pawłucki have become new members of the Board of Directors of ORLEN Unipetrol a.s. At today’s Board of Directors meeting, Mariusz Wnuk has been elected chairman of the Board of Directors and will also act as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the ORLEN Unipetrol Group.  Zbigniew Pawłucki has been elected vice-chairman of the Board of Directors of the ORLEN Unipetrol Group.

"The ORLEN Unipetrol group and the entire industry face a big task in the form of transformation towards a sustainable future and emission neutrality. This is a fundamental challenge for all areas of our business in the medium and long term horizon. In the short term, our current challenge is to complete the transition process to new types of crude oil blends in the Litvínov refinery. I look forward to working with more than six thousand employees of our group, with business partners and with representatives of all interested parties. I am convinced that we will successfully handle these challenges together," said Mariusz Wnuk, the new Chairman of the Board of Directors of the ORLEN Unipetrol Group.

Mariusz Wnuk, chairman of the Board of Directors, is a manager with 20 years of experience in senior management and supervisory positions in the capital market, banking and leasing industry combining skills in managing large projects and areas with practical financial knowledge. From 2009 to 2024, he served as Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Pocztylion-Arka Powszechne Towarzystwo Emerytalne responsible for asset management (CIO) and overseeing reorganization, implementation and acquisition projects. From 2005 to 2009, Deputy Director General of Poczta Polska (CFO) responsible for controlling, financial accounting, treasury and investment projects financing. Carried out restructuring of financial services and implementations of retail banking and insurance services. He served on the Supervisory Board of Bank Pocztowy and chaired the Supervisory Board of Pocztowy Fundusz Leasingowy. He previously worked for the Bank for European Cooperation, Gdynia Shipyard and a think tank the Gdansk Institute for Market Economics. He is a graduate of the Faculty of Economics at the University of Gdansk, and also completed training for senior managers AMP (IESE, Spain) and obtained the CFA® charter (CFA Institute, United States) endorsing investment management and financial expertise.

Zbigniew Pawłucki, vice-chairman of the Board of Directors, is a manager with 30 years of professional experience in procurement, investment and production management, and business restructuring. He was a member of the boards of directors at companies active in the automotive industry and the refining and petrochemical segment. He graduated from the Cologne University of Applied Sciences, Germany, the Warsaw University of Technology, the Faculty of Energy and Air Engineering, and the Academy of Strategic Management, Harvard Business Review. He has worked in the automotive industry and industrial production since 1993. He started his career at Ford Motor Company. Between 1995 and 2004, he worked at HP-chemie Pelzer GmbH, being responsible for procurement and building and developing the production plant. As the vice-chairman of the Board of Directors, he was responsible for restructuring processes at the Pelzer Group. As the vice-chairman of the Board of Directors at Automotive Components Europe Group SA, he introduced the company to the Warsaw Stock Exchange (IPO) in 2007. As the executive director for CAPEX, he had been responsible for CAPEX and the restructuring of group companies at PKN ORLEN S.A. since 2009. As the vice-chairman of the Board of Directors at Izoblok S.A., he had been responsible for integration, development, sales, and procurement since 2018. Recently, he has worked on the organisation of an energy storage facility that stabilises energy networks.
